A new study (Wei-Lei Wang et. al.) assumes that the storage capacity of the oceans for CO 2 through the sedimentation of plankton in deep water is 15 gigatons per year . The IPCC World Climate Report from 2021 still assumed only 11 gigatons. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-023-06772-4
